Alien Hives Unveiled: Meet Troseis & Nisuv

Alien Hives Unveiled will be launching next month on MyMiniFactory's Frontiers! Not only will you get the brand new Alien Hives Faction Book, but you can also expect to get four new Narrative Heroes for the faction. Today we'll be taking a look at two of them: Trosies and Nisuv. Even better, their stats are live now on Army Forge if you want to check them out, today!

Prime Troseis Loithn Khe, “The Gluttonous”

Despite his reputation as a brute, Troseis is an ingenious Prime Warrior, whose obsession with digestion led him to a bio-weapon known as the Bileburner. This is because he would eat so much of whatever material he could get his claws on that his body responded by developing incredibly fierce digestive fluids.

With the help of other fellow Hivers, Troseis managed to design the Bileburner, which can project streams of corrosive acid onto foes. This did not earn him a lot of popularity at the beginning, as he was assigned to the defense of the insides of Hiveship Okhredoz.

The walls of the living ship did not respond well to being doused in burning liquids, and the muscle spasms triggered by Troseis’s experiments caused significant chaos and damages. Still, he was so obstinate and singleminded that no one could convince him to stop perfecting the Bileburner.

His glory day came when a Robot Legion raid targeted Okhredoz, and the Prime Warrior found himself holding the line. In a stroke of genius, he triggered muscle spasms in the tightest corridors of the Hiveship, which crushed the Robots into scrap metal.

Now assigned to scouting new planets where he can spray acid to his heart’s content, Troseis is happy, always accompanied by Khīkhī, a defective explosive spore unable to blow up. Troseis swears that coating the end of his Bileburner with the combustible fluid oozing from Khīkhī makes his acids burn brighter than any flame.

As the primary object of Troseis's focus, The Bile-Burner is the main way he likes to commit in battle. With 2 Attacks and Blast (3) he can douse a lot of infantry in acidic bile. Reliable makes sure that those initial hits actually hit to spread out the blast, and Bane makes sure that Regeneration wont be an issue and any lucky 6's turn into an enemies downfall instead. Khīkhī supports Troseis by adding Piercing Tag which will give some AP to any unit shooting at the tagged targets. Together they can take down even well defended units with a combination of AP and Rerolls.

Nisuv Rezaith Zārē, “The Nectar Tongue”

Tempering the most aggressive tendencies of the Hive Lords on Hiveship Ikhanoz’s council, Snatcher Lord Nisuv views cooperation as essential to the Hives’ prosperity in Sirius, an extension of the Mother’s teachings, saying that the best fights are the ones that never happen.

Snatchers are a peculiar species, even within the very diverse population of the Hives. Their psychic abilities and skill for infiltration has caused some to see them as untrustworthy or devious. However, Snatcher Lord Nisuv is a shining example of the opposite.

He is well known for preaching harmony and attempting to open negotiations even with the most bellicose opponents, often with successful results. But when time comes for battle, these peaceful traits become devastating weapons.

While he despises senseless violence, Nisuv remains deeply connected with the natural cycle, and has no qualms about putting down threats ruthlessly before they can become a danger to his Hiveship and the planets it is nurturing.

His charisma and genuine empathy towards his adversaries has allowed him to turn foes into friends many times; on more than one occasion, entire enemy battalions have switched sides, joining the Alien Hives because the Snatcher Lord had convinced them this was in their best interest.

Said to speak over a hundred languages and have a network of friends across three Sectors, Nisuv is a fearsome opponent, because when he steps on the battlefield, he already has exhausted all other options, and his determination is unmatched.

Nisuv is both smart and nimble in combat. With a combination of Fast, Scout, and Strider, he can get to where he needs to be rather efficiently. His positioning will be important for his Psychic abilities, represented by Caster (2). He'll want to be in range to make sure the right units get the right Buff or Debuffing Spells and Attack Spells are getting targeted exactly where they need to. On top of that his Pacification Spores are an additional Precision Debuff he can use to force an enemy unit to get -1 on their next attack roll, protecting more vulnerable hivers from weapons fire or melee assaults.
