Moonmire's Proving Grounds: Meet Moonmire & Getrie

Moonmire's Proving Grounds will be launching next week on MyMiniFactory's Frontiers! Along with the remastered mission pack, you can expect to get four new Narrative Heroes with the campaign. Today we'll be taking a look at two of them: Supreme Mistress Moonmire herself and Getrie from the Ratmen. Even better, their stats are live now on Army Forge if you want to check them out, today!

Luzranamoqixor “Moonmire”, Supreme Mistress of Udanax

Even before the Dreamhelm, Moonmire was a skilled manipulator. Though far surpassing most mortals, she lacked the same natural grace as most Lust Daemons. Instead, her talents lay in playing upon vulnerabilities, both emotional and physical, allowing her to rise to the rank of Champion, whereas her rivals always seemed to die or disappear. Yet, she never felt truly secure in her position, distrusting her subordinates and playing them against each other to prevent them from betraying her.

Everything changed when Moonmire obtained the Dreamhelm. With the ability to see and alter the dreams of others, Moonmire gained insight and control beyond anything she could imagine. Though some did not heed their dreams and resisted her charms, those who were swayed showed utter devotion to her.

When Moonmire finally found the Oneirian Plane, she felt the security she had never had before. She became increasingly obsessed with dreams and her power over them, seeking the perfection and control she held in them even while in the waking world. Udanax was to be a tribute to this vision, an attempt to bring it into the real world.

Yet, surrounded by fawning servants and obsessed with dreams, Moonmire grew physically weaker and more dependent. She abandoned her training altogether and hid away in her Lunar Palace, slowly withering away until her hope became fixed on finding a way to bring her delusions into reality.

A Magical Monster Hunter

When on the table, Moonmire can use her Caster(3) spells to help shape and swing the battle, and pairs well with any short ranged units in the second line. Her two Astral Serpant attacks are especially great to target an opponent's larger infantry and beasts with the Shatter rule helping to crack high defense units with ease.

Getrie Veikasip, the Prodigy of the Brec Artificers’ Guild

Getrie was a promising new apprentice to the Artificers’ Guild, who quickly rose to the rank of Warlock. She gained the praise and adulation of many within her city until suddenly she hit a creative block. She continued her work where she could, focusing on less glorious work like maintenance and repair. She could not, however, escape the bitter feeling of loss as she saw her star fall and her reputation fade as eyes turned towards those with newer inventions and greater promise.

Then she began to see Moonmire in her dreams. Though wary of the Daemon, Moonmire’s visions gave Getrie new insight into her creative blocks. For the first time in years, she found her creativity flowing through her as it once had, a feeling she dearly missed.

Her first invention was Nerve Grenades, a tool she had long envisioned but never been able to complete; she had a working prototype by the end of that day. She became obsessed with the visions that came to her through her dreams and resolved to follow wherever they led, even if they took her beyond the very edge of Tyria.

During Moonmire’s tournament, Getrie gained a reputation for her friendliness, welcoming others to the Knight’s Rest and earning respect from other warbands. However, she was particularly vulnerable to Moonmire’s manipulations, desiring the creativity she believed she had forever lost

Bombs Away!

On the table, Getrie is a boon to any ranged focused squad! Her Increased Shooting Range Aura helps increase the threat of her unit, and with Quick Readjustment and Scurry, she can stay very responsive and mobile on the battlefield. Her bombs a great against soft infantry targets, even when they're entrenched in cover, and for more heavily armored foes, her Overtuned Halberd is an effective, if dangerous, option!
