v3.6 Closed Beta is Live for Patreon Supporters
Hello everyone!
We're happy to announce that the v3.6 Beta is ready for testing for our main-line games: Grimdark Future, Grimdark Future: Firefight, Grimdark Future: Star Quest, Age of Fantasy, Age of Fantasy: Skirmish, Age of Fantasy: Regiments, & Age of Fantasy: Quest!
The v3.6 Closed Beta will run from today until June 26, and is open to all Tier 1, Tier 2, & Tier 3 Patreon Supporters. This is all to help gather feedback and help make the next versions of our games the best they can be. So if you'd like to help us test and shape the future of OPR Games, here is how you can get involved.
About the v3.6 Closed Beta
The v3.6 Closed Beta #1 is our first try at a new beta format to collect feedback for upcoming game releases. We’ve learned a lot of lessons from our previous beta experience for v3.5, and have come up with a new format based on player feedback, which should hopefully make this a much smoother and better experience for everyone involved.
General Scope
Unlike the previous beta, which was using a “live” format (as in, the armies were updated as we received feedback), this beta is going to be using a “static” format (as in, the armies won’t be updated throughout the beta period). Additionally, we’re expanding the scope of the beta from just the Army Books, to also include the Core Rules and Advanced Rulebooks. (You can also download the Beta Rulebooks from the Tier 1 Rewards Post on Patreon!)
Whilst this is a “closed” beta (as in, only patrons can log in to the beta site of army-forge), you are totally free and encouraged to play the beta with your friends that are not patrons. To do so, you can show them the contents of the beta site and build army lists for them, as well as show them any of the advanced rules that you’re using for your games.
That being said, please don’t share any of the PDFs from either the beta armies or the advanced rules online (public discords, forums, etc.), as this content is not ready for public release.
Providing Feedback
Since this is a “static” beta, we’re not going to be collecting feedback throughout. There are discord channels available for you to chit chat amongst yourselves, but those won’t be actively monitored by the OPR team. Instead, all feedback will be collected at the end of the beta period via a survey, which will be sent to you via e-mail.
When you open the beta on army-forge, you should get a pop-up that allows you to input your e-mail, which will then be used to send you the survey. We won’t be using the e-mails we collect like this for any other purposes, and if there is another beta you will have to sign up to receive the survey for that one again.
This is not mandatory, and you can access the beta without signing up for the survey as well.
